Michelle Eby, RPh, Pharm D
Senior Clinical Research Pharmacist

Dr. Eby joined CTEP as a Senior Clinical Research Pharmacist in September 2001. She is responsible for providing pharmaceutical expertise for a variety of activities related to CTEP sponsored clinical trials. Her focus is to negotiate with pharmaceutical company representatives, estimate study product requirements, and adhere to specifications prior to their distribution to clinical sites. Dr. Eby is responsible for ensuring that Pharmacy Guidelines for the requisition and management of investigational agents are followed by providing oversight of pharmacy functions at the clinical sites. She develops investigational agent sections of protocols in cooperation with the pharmaceutical manufacturer and protocol team.

From 1996 to 2001, Dr. Eby was the pharmacist liaison to the Metabolism Branch of NCI and provided clinical pharmacy coverage for the Pediatric Branch of NCI from 1992 to 1996. During her years with the pediatric branch, she obtained multiple awards for the prevention of major errors in investigational protocol compliance. She joined the Clinical Center Pharmacy Department in 1989.

Dr. Eby earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Duquesne University and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Maryland where she also received the Gold Medal for Academic Excellence. Dr. Eby serves as pharmacist liaison to the Children’s Oncology Group and has been asked to speak at several of their biannual meetings.
