Ravie Kem graduated with a BS in Pharmacy from Xavier University College of Pharmacy and a Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from University of Florida. Prior to joining NCI/CTEP, she provided clinical interventions and recommendations in diverse areas including dispensing and preparing drugs (IV, TPN, chemotherapy, antibiotics, and investigational drugs) in various inpatient settings at Georgetown University Medical Center. She also managed the research pharmacy satellite at Georgetown, providing guidance and advice on investigational drug use, and training and supervising pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
She joined the National Cancer Institute, Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program in 2004. Her responsibilities include reviewing protocols; providing technical assistance with investigational drug importation to Canada, planning drug forecast, and overseeing drug acquisition and inventory management for IND agents in her portfolio used in CTEP-sponsored trials. She is responsible for developing Pharmaceutical Data Sheets for investigational agents used in CTEP-sponsored trials.
She co-authored of the Lombardie Chemotherapy Handbook and has published a few articles. She received the Cardinal Chairman’s Award in 1999.
