Lunet E. Luna, Ph.D.

Dr. Lunet Luna earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. For her academic studies, she was awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship — Hispanic Scholarship Fund, American Chemical Society Scholarship, Berkeley Chancellor’s Fellowship, and the National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship. Dr. Luna’s doctoral dissertation focused on thin films and nanostructured silicon carbide for biological, high-temperature, and high-radiation environments. Her doctoral work was completed in part at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Berkeley Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory.

Dr. Luna completed postdoctoral research at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow. Following her postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Luna worked as a registered patent agent at Morrison & Foerster, where she focused her practice on patent prosecution and counseling with expertise in chemical engineering.

Dr. Luna joined the Agreement Coordination Group (ACG) in the Regulatory Affairs Branch (RAB) of CTEP in October 2021. At CTEP, her responsibilities include review and negotiation of research and development agreements with pharmaceutical collaborators, testing laboratories, domestic clinical trials groups and institutions, and international clinical trials groups and institutions.

About the Branch Chief

Bhanu Ramineni, M.S., M.S. Bhanu Ramineni, M.S., M.S., became the Chief of the Regulatory Affairs Branch in October 2019. She joined the Drug Regulatory Group in the branch in 2010. She holds two Master's degrees: one in Environmental Sciences from Nagarjuna University, India, and a second one in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Biotechnology from Georgetown University. Ms. Ramineni comes with significant experience in FDA Regulatory Affairs, as well as preclinical and clinical development of vaccines with a special focus in immunology. More…
