NCI Early Drug Development Opportunity Program (EDDOP)
Under the NCI Early Drug Development Opportunity Program (EDDOP), any NCI-designated Cancer Center (NCI-CC) not affiliated with the ETCTN may still be able to participate in ETCTN trials as a lead clinical site or as a participating site.
1. Leading an ETCTN Trial
Investigators from non-ETCTN NCI-designated Cancer Centers (NCI-CCs) are invited to submit Letters of Intent (LOIs) to conduct clinical trials with CTEP IND agents. If the LOI is approved by the CTEP Protocol Review Committee, the investigator could receive full ETCTN support for the clinical trial, including the following benefits:
- accrual across ETCTN sites
- access to the Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB)
- registration and data management support
- funds for salary reimbursement and accrual at the investigator’s home institution through a supplement to the NCI-CC’s P30 grant
Important Update to Process (May 5, 2016): Before submitting a an LOI through the EDDOP, contact the IDB Monitor(s) for the intended CTEP agent(s) to schedule a preliminary conference. EDDOP LOIs submitted without holding a preliminary conference will be refused. Please see CTEP Agents and Active Agreements for the current list of IDB Monitors.
2. Participating in ETCTN Trials Led by ETCTN Sites
Non-ETCTN NCI-designated Cancer Centers will be also able to compete for administrative supplements to enroll patients on select ETCTN phase 2 trials.
