Dr. Larissa Korde, MD

Head — Breast Cancer and Melanoma Therapeutics

Dr. Larissa Korde joined the Clinical Investigations Branch, CTEP, DCTD in September 2016 and provides expertise and oversight of the breast cancer and melanoma clinical trials portfolios. Dr. Korde is well known to the NCTN Program community and NCI.

Dr. Korde completed her internal medicine at Georgetown University in 2001 and then went on to complete a Medical Oncology Fellowship and Cancer Prevention Fellowship at NCI. She was on staff at NCI in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics from 2005 to 2009. From 2009 to 2017, Dr. Korde held an academic appointment at the University of Washington, with joint appointments in the Clinical Research Division and Public Health Science Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She maintained her clinical practice and research responsibilities at UW from September 2016 to August 2017 prior to transitioning to a full-time rule in CTEP in September 2017.

Dr. Korde's research interests focus on breast cancer treatment and prevention. She is an active member of ASCO and currently leads the Genetics Subcommittee for the ASCO Cancer Prevention Committee, and has served on numerous committees and guideline panels.
