Karen Said, B.A.
Executive Assistant
Karen Said joined the Regulatory Affairs Branch in March of 2012 and serves as the Executive Assistant and Office Manager. She attended Hampshire College in Amherst, MA and graduated with a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts and a concentration in Nutrition. Prior to graduating Ms. Said did an internship at the Washington Adventist Hospital working with dieticians. Her thesis was on "The Importance of Adequate Dietary Fiber in Diverticular Disease and Appendicitis." Ms. Said has worked at several private industry organizations during the course of her administrative career. Prior to coming to NIH she worked at the North American Biologics, Inc., (formerly Univax Biologics), where she was the Assistant to the Sr. Executive Vice President of R&D. Other government agencies that Ms. Said has worked at include the Environmental Protection Agency, Library of Congress and the Central Intelligence Agency.
About the Branch Chief
Bhanu Ramineni, M.S., M.S., became the Chief of the Regulatory Affairs Branch in October 2019. She joined the Drug Regulatory Group in the branch in 2010. She holds two Master's degrees: one in Environmental Sciences from Nagarjuna University, India, and a second one in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Biotechnology from Georgetown University. Ms. Ramineni comes with significant experience in FDA Regulatory Affairs, as well as preclinical and clinical development of vaccines with a special focus in immunology. More…
