CTEP Branches and Offices
Radim Moravec, PhD
Program Officer for Biomedical Informatics Projects
Radim has scientific training in cancer biology, pharmacology and immunology from the University of Virginia. Prior to joining NIH, he was also employed as an analytical chemist at GlaxoSmithKline, a virologist at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and a biomedical technology examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Radim joined NCI in 2015 to work at the Surveillance Informatics Branch (DCCPS) where he helped to develop a Virtual Tissue Repository feasibility project aimed to enhance specimen and data collection capabilities of SEER cancer registries. Part of this pilot involved developing one of the first iterations of the SEER*Abs software tool that allows registrars to abstract clinical data from medical records by custom request. From 2017 to 2022, Radim worked as a Scientific Program Manager in CDP and CBIIT on two Cancer Moonshot projects. He developed specimen and clinical data collection standards for over 30 clinical trials investigated by the Cancer Immune Monitoring and Analysis Centers (CIMAC) network and fielded a Correlative Study Management System used to facilitate sample processing across multiple laboratories. He also served as a reviewer for CTEP PIO and for industry-funded study sections. Radim is currently assigned to work on a variety of CTEPs informatics projects.
