Jennifer Thompson, RPh, Pharm D,

Senior Clinical Research Pharmacist
Dr. Thompson joined the Pharmaceutical Management Branch (PMB) of the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) in 2012. Her responsibilities include providing pharmaceutical information about CTEP IND agents, managing their use in CTEP-sponsored clinical trials, and coordinating the development of the PMB Investigational Drug Accountability Training Videos. In 2014, she joined the Pharmacy Committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology as PMB liaison.
Dr. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and she completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. She served as a hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy specialist at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) for many years before transitioning into Investigational Drug Services at UMMC. In 2006, she was a recipient of the UMMC Greenebaum Cancer Center Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Thompson is a board certified oncology pharmacist.
She was a contributing author on the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) Investigational Drug Service Best Practice Standards.
About the Branch Chief
Dr. Johnson manages many investigational agents in support of NCI-sponsored cancer treatment trials as well as a variety of activities related to new drug development.
She holds a BA in Biology from the University of Rochester. After spending many years performing molecular biology research, she attended the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and graduated with a PharmD. More…
